Download your scorecard/rank details from the official NEET source.
AIQ/MCC, State counselling, or other applicable participating routes.
Complete counselling registration and required payment on the correct official portal.
Select colleges/courses and arrange them in your genuine preference order.
Allotment is processed using eligibility, merit/rank, choices and seat availability.
Follow the applicable reporting, document verification and upgradation rules.
Complete the college admission formalities within the official reporting window.

All India Counselling and State Counselling Are Different Paths
An aspirant may be eligible to participate in more than one counselling system. Registration, schedule, rules and seat pools are not automatically the same.

Medical Counselling Committee
MCC conducts counselling for 15% All India Quota seats in participating government medical/dental colleges and also for specified participating Central/Deemed/AIIMS/JIPMER and other categories under the current scheme.

Your State Admission Authority
State counselling is conducted by the designated state authority under that state’s eligibility, reservation, domicile/local-area and admission rules.

- Schedule can differ from MCC

03 · TELANGANA QUOTA TYPES — UNDERSTAND THE NAMES
Convener, Management and NRI — What Do They Actually Mean?
These names refer to different admission seat categories and counselling routes. The exact seat matrix, fee, eligibility and document rules must always be checked in the current KNRUHS prospectus/notification.

These seats are filled through the state competent authority counselling process according to the applicable state eligibility, merit, reservation, local-area/category and seat-matrix rules.

PRIVATE COLLEGE MANAGEMENT SEAT CATEGORY
Management Quota — B Category
Management B-category seats in affiliated private medical/dental colleges are handled through the separately notified Management Quota admission process. They are not the same as Competent Authority seats.

- NEET qualification and notified eligibility are required
- Candidates exercise web options under the notified process

MANAGEMENT QUOTA · NRI CATEGORY
NRI Quota — C / NRI Category
This is the NRI-category route within the separately notified Management Quota process. A candidate must satisfy the NRI-related eligibility and documentary requirements prescribed for that admission year.

- NRI / sponsor / relationship documents may be required as notified
- Separate C/NRI eligibility conditions apply
- Do not assume that paying a higher fee alone makes a candidate eligible for NRI quota

2026-27 current-status note:
KNRUHS has published 2026-27 Competent Authority information. At the time this page was prepared, the separate 2026-27 MBBS/BDS Management Quota prospectus was not yet visible in the latest KNRUHS admission notifications checked. Therefore B/C-NRI percentages, fees and document rules should be filled only after that official prospectus is issued.
04 · AIQ COUNSELLING ROUNDS · 2026 REFERENCE
Four Rounds in the Current MCC AIQ Scheme
The 2026 MCC bulletin describes AIQ Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Stray Vacancy Round. Upgradation is available up to Round 3, subject to the scheme.
Registration, choice filling, allotment and the applicable reporting/upgradation decision.
Eligible candidates can participate according to MCC’s Round 2 rules and schedule.
Round 3 is more restrictive. Under the current scheme, candidates cannot resign/exit an allotted Round 3 seat.
Conducted for remaining eligible vacancies under the official stray-vacancy rules.
Rules can change by year.
Use this section to understand the structure, but use the latest MCC bulletin and schedule before making an actual counselling decision.
05 · IMPORTANT 2026 COUNSELLING FLOW
Freeze vs Float — Understand Your Intention
The 2026 MCC scheme uses these two pathways for allotted candidates depending on whether they want to retain the seat or remain open to upgradation.
I Am Satisfied With This Seat
You do not want upgradation to the next round. Under the 2026 MCC scheme, a Freeze candidate who wants to join proceeds to the allotted institute for physical joining and document verification.
Think: RETAIN + JOINI Want to Keep This Seat but Try to Upgrade
You give willingness for upgradation. Under the 2026 MCC scheme, required documents are uploaded for online verification and physical reporting is not required at that stage for Float candidates.
Think: HOLD + UPGRADE

“If I get no better seat in the next round, am I comfortable continuing with this allotment?”
This is not a substitute for the official rules; it is a simple way to understand the decision mindset before reading the detailed scheme.
06 · CHOICE FILLING GUIDE
Your Preference Order Matters
Choice filling should reflect what you genuinely prefer — not a random list copied from someone else.
Start from all colleges you are actually willing and eligible to join.
Check fees, bond/service conditions, location, category/quota eligibility and official college information.
Put the seat you want most above seats you want less. Do not rank by guesswork alone.
Once choices are locked under the official process, changes may not be permitted for that window.

The current MCC bulletin requires original documents at joining/reporting for applicable candidates. Exact requirements can vary by category/institution, so always check the latest list.

08 · COMMON COUNSELLING MISTAKES
Small Errors Can Become Big Admission Problems
Most counselling mistakes are preventable when the aspirant checks the official source, deadlines and documents carefully.
Registration, choice locking, reporting and resignation windows are time-bound.
Do not place a less-preferred college above a college you truly want more.
Verify institutional fee, service/bond conditions and other obligations before filling choices.
Check domicile, category, quota and institutional eligibility before selecting seats.
Name/category/certificate inconsistencies can affect verification.
Use WhatsApp/social media only as alerts; verify final decisions on official portals.

In the 2026 MCC scheme, an allotted candidate who remains willing to move to a higher-preference seat in the next applicable round.
Stray Vacancy Final vacant-seat round
A later counselling round for eligible remaining vacancies under the applicable official rules.
Reporting Complete admission formalities
The required joining/document-verification/admission process after allotment, according to the applicable round and scheme.
Competent Authority Quota Commonly called Convener Quota
The official Telangana state-authority counselling route. “Convener quota” is a commonly used informal name; always follow the KNRUHS Competent Authority notification.
Management B Category Management Quota
A separately notified management-seat category in applicable private affiliated colleges, filled through the official Management Quota admission process.
C / NRI Category NRI Quota
The NRI-category route under the Management Quota process, subject to the academic year’s notified NRI eligibility and documentary requirements.
